Over the past months, I’ve been working at a small screen printing and embroidery shop, where I’ve gained hands-on experience in both design and production. I’ve not only helped create custom merchandise for clients but also designed logos, crafted social media posts to promote the shop, and developed original merchandise designs for the store. This experience has strengthened my ability to merge creativity with functionality, ensuring designs look great both digitally and in print.

Objective: The primary goal of my project is to cultivate a heightened appreciation for the natural environment while sparking contemplation about the profound impact excessive online engagement can have on our well-being. It seeks to portray the historical connection between humans and nature, emphasizing the potential benefits that stem from acknowledging and cherishing the natural world. The project delves into the concept of "Touch Grass," a phrase used to encourage individuals spending excessive time online to physically immerse themselves in nature, symbolizing a reconnection with reality. This exploration is particularly relevant given the addictive nature of human behavior and the escalating prevalence of technology, notably smartphones, contributing to ongoing issues like climate change and unfair capitalist practices. Inspiration: The genesis of this theme arises from my personal experiences of feeling ensnared by technology, notably my phone, and recognizing the detrimental impact on my well-being. Yearning to escape urban confines and rediscover a connection with nature, I advocate for a societal shift towards appreciating nature rather than attempting to evade it. This topic resonates widely in today's world, reflecting a shared sentiment that I am passionate about addressing.
Key Message: The desired takeaway for viewers is to depart with a sense of hope for a brighter future, armed with the understanding of how immersing oneself in nature and reducing screen time can significantly enhance personal wellness.

IN TODAY'S VIRTUAL AGE, WE'RE OFTEN LURED BY INSTANT GRATIFICATION, CHASING QUICK FIXES LIKE NOTIFICATIONS AND LIKES. HOWEVER, IN OUR PURSUIT OF THESE FLEETING CONNECTIONS, WE SETTLE FOR SHALLOW SUBSTITUTES, OPTING FOR TEXT MESSAGES OVER FACE TO FACE CONVERSATIONS AND CHOOSING CONVENIENCE OVER DEPTH. WE EVEN BUY FAKE PLANTS BECAUSE NURTURING REAL ONES SEEMS TOO DAUNTING. YET, THESE ARTIFICIAL CONNECTIONS CAN NEVER REPLACE THE RICHNESS OF GENUINE EXPERIENCES THE WARMTH OF THE SUN, THE COMFORT OF A HUG, THE AUTHENTICITY OF SHARED MOMENTS. CONNECTING WITH THE REAL WORLD AROUND US, IMMERSING OURSELVES IN THE SIGHTS, SOUNDS, AND SENSATIONS OF TRUE CONNECTION, OFFERS A DEPTH OF FULFILLMENT THAT TRANSCENDS THE FLEETING ALLURE OF THE VIRTUAL WORLD. THE PHRASE "TOUCH GRASS" EMBODIES THE ESSENCE OF RECONNECTING WITH THE TANGIBLE, THE NATURAL, THE GROUNDING FORCE OF THE EARTH BENEATH OUR FEET. BY HEEDING THE CALL TO "TOUCH GRASS", WE NOT ONLY REPLENISH OUR SPIRITS BUT ALSO CULTIVATE A DEEPER SENSE OF GRATITUDE AND RESPECT FOR THE PLANET THAT SUSTAINS US. IN THE MIDST OF THE DIGITAL WHIRLWIND, IT’S CRUCIAL TO ANCHOR OURSELVES IN WHAT IS REAL. TO SEEK OUT GENUINE CONNECTIONS BOTH WITH OTHERS AND WITH THE WORLD AROUND US. TO PRIORITIZE MOMENTS OF PRESENCE AND AUTHENTICITY OVER THE ALLURE OF INSTANT GRATIFICATION. BY GROUNDING OURSELVES IN THE REAL, WE RECLAIM OUR SENSE OF BALANCE, PURPOSE, AND CONNECTION TO OURSELVES, TO EACH OTHER, AND TO THE WORLD WE INHABIT.
